Benijofar - Benimar

Benijófar has expanded hugely to become one of the most desirable areas to live in the local area. The original village is still relatively small with two urban areas on either side of the main street, Avenida Federico Garcia Lorca, however the urbanisations of Monte Azul to the southwest and Benimar to the northeast, are served by the Benijófar town hall. In all three areas, there are excellent bars and restaurants to be found.

In addition to these urbanisations, there are several moderate-scale construction projects of new housing underway. Indeed, Benijófar has seen considerable investment in its infrastructure over the past 5 years. In the summer of 2020, a brand new nursery school was built in the same grounds as the village primary school which concurrently underwent a major modernisation process. There is a large multipurpose sports centre in the village, which incorporates an outdoor public swimming pool and football pitches. This is the venue for school sports days and other public events.

Benijófar location and proximity to its neighbouring villages of Rojales, Fomentera, Algorfa, Los Montesinos and the town of Ciudad Quesada mean that these areas' leisure facilities and amenities are also easily accessible.

Benimar has traditionally always had a fairly vibrant social scene, particularly in the summer months, and several of the bars and restaurants in Benimar have enjoyed some considerable longevity which is testament to their quality and they are popular with locals and tourists alike throughout the entire year. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are always available, and the range of choice of where to eat is wide. British, Dutch, Indian, Chinese, Italian, Mexican and (not least importantly) Spanish places can all be found there. Summer 2020 has seen completion of a brand new commercial centre on the border between Benijófar and Benimar, adding further quality to Benimar's social repertoire.
