The mortgage firm grows 20% in the Valencian Community in a year

The average amount of a mortgage for the purchase of housing in Spain was in June of 116,629 euros, which is an increase of 4.4% in annual rate.

The signing of new mortgages for the purchase of housing amounted to 3,101 in the Valencian Community in the month of June, which supposes a 20% with regard to the same month of the previous year. The capital loaned in this autonomy reached 254.8 million euros, 26.6% more than a year ago, according to data published Thursday by the National Statistics Institute of Spain (INE)

In absolute numbers, the communities with the highest number of home mortgages in June are, once again, the most populated: Andalusia (5,805), Community of Madrid (5,663), Catalonia (4,557) and Comunitat Valenciana (3,101).

Majority of variable rate mortgages.

The average interest rate on home mortgage loans reached 2.79% last June, 12.8% lower than in the same month of 2016, with an average term of 23 years. 62.2% of home mortgages were made at a variable rate, in contrast to the fixed rate of 37.8%. In C. Valenciana, the percentage of mortgages fixed rate rises to 46%.
