Villas for Sale in Lo Crispin
The sale of housing in Alicante grows 20% in August, four points above the Spanish average
The Valencian Community was the second region that registered more transactions of houses last August.
The purchase of houses in Alicante last August registered a year-on-year increase of 20.6%, the highest among the three provinces that lead the ranking in Spain. In Madrid it increased by 18.2% and in Barcelona, by 8.3%, according to data published yesterday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
The outstanding advance of the sale of houses in the province is four points above the 16% registered in the state average. Growth that moderates slightly, although it adds four months to the rise. The 41,282 transactions nationwide marked in August its third best registry since February of 2011.
In the province of Alicante, the bulk of the sale of flats is located in the free market, with 2,892 operations of the 3,089 total. And, secondly, second-hand housing accounts for the number of sales, with 2,379, 11.7% more than twelve months ago.
However, the segment of new housing, although with fewer transactions (710) has increased in year-on-year terms by 64.3%.
